About the Role
Join an early-stage industrial automation startup as its first engineer, building a perception system that understands manual work in factories. You will take computer vision from experimentation through production deployment, starting with real-time quality inspection and helping shape the technical foundations for future robotic automation.
What You’ll Do
-
Build perception systems for detection, classification, tracking, temporal understanding, and 3D vision.
-
Develop first-person vision that handles camera motion, changing viewpoints, occlusion, motion blur, and variable lighting.
-
Work with the technical leadership team to improve models, datasets, and evaluation based on failures in real deployments.
-
Build geometric vision capabilities for calibration, localization, pose estimation, and coordinate transformations.
-
Train and debug PyTorch models using synthetic and real-world data.
-
Optimize low-latency inference and deploy systems on NVIDIA Jetson using TensorRT.
-
Work directly on factory floors and turn deployment learnings into reusable perception infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
-
At least 3 years of experience building and deploying computer vision, robotics perception, or applied machine learning systems outside notebooks or lab environments.
-
Experience shipping real-time perception systems in computer vision, robotics, industrial robotics, AR/VR, ADAS, or physical AI.
-
Strong Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV skills, including experience developing detection, classification, or tracking models.
-
Experience with geometric vision and ownership of an underspecified physical-world problem from development through deployment.
-
Experience with edge deployment or production inference optimization, and working with users or in field deployments.
-
Experience with synthetic data and Sim2Real, SLAM or VIO, depth estimation, 3D reconstruction, CUDA, TensorRT, ROS2, robot manipulation, or robot learning is beneficial.
