The Experience
Salesforce Commerce Cloud is looking for a Sales Executive, mainly covering the Tokyo area, as we expand our business in Japan. Using a direct sales approach with new and existing customers, you will make proposals that grow clients’ businesses, starting from eCommerce and grounded in an understanding of their business. Your counterparts will mainly be business leaders such as executives and directors, so you can carry out sales activities with a strong consulting element.
What is a Specialist AE?
The Account Executive is a signature sales position at Salesforce. While it teaches you the sales skills to maximize results from an account-conquest perspective, a product Specialist AE is expected to think about how to grow the business of the segment you cover. This means you will sharpen the sales skills to close the deal in front of you, and you can also gain experience driving the business with a Generalist’s perspective. Having this kind of experience within a large company like Salesforce makes this a position that can contribute greatly to your career advancement in a way that differs from previous sales roles.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Cover mainly large enterprises in the Tokyo area. Responsibilities: Work with the marketing, inside sales, and channel sales teams, partners, and others to drive new customer acquisition and deepen existing customer relationships with EC solutions from the world’s No.1 CRM solution provider, aiming to achieve your own sales target (individual performance).
- Propose and sell Commerce Cloud, a B2C/B2B platform, through a direct sales model.
- Make proposals tailored to realizing customer needs, including an understanding of Salesforce’s other solutions.
- Because you provide customers with services rather than products, you will not spend effort on shipping or delivering products, and can focus on proposals for customer success.
- Many of your proposal targets are CxO and executive-level leaders, and you will drive proposals that solve challenges in management and business strategy.
- Perform the duties of a sales lead while being a product specialist.
- Develop the annual sales strategy within your assigned territory and execute sales plays.
- You may work on proposals in collaboration with key partners such as digital agencies, system integrators, and fulfillment/logistics partners.
You’re Our Person If…
- 5+ years of corporate sales experience in the IT industry
- Self-motivated, with the flexibility to enjoy change and a fast pace
- Customer-first mindset with a strong commitment to budget, and active in your work
- Not tied to conventional ways, with a sense for adopting new approaches
- Have established and practice your own methods for finding opportunities, prioritizing, and running the sales process to reach goals
- Direct sales experience carrying an individual quota
- Experience selling enterprise software
Even Better If…
- Experience with problem-solving proposals

- Experience selling retail or digital marketing solutions to enterprises
- English (but not required)
- Experience selling EC solutions
- Experience achieving annual targets and receiving awards
